ITOF History

This page records the development of the Invariant Temporal Ordering Framework version by version, in order, and states the strongest elements each version contributed. The current governing foundation is ITOF V39/F19. Earlier versions remain historical-critical records and do not constitute parallel current authorities; where a later version revised or removed a position, the entry says so.

How to Read This Page

The current version is listed first; the entries after it run in chronological order from V15 to V38. Each states the version’s date, its official title, and the elements that proved durable or that first fixed a result later versions relied on. V14 and earlier are not covered here. Series numbering (F1 onward) begins with V21/F1. Dates are those printed on each version.

Six Threads Through the Versions

  1. Temporal referent: from an ordered set of admissible states (V15–V20) to one common cosmic-stage domain with a strict earlier–later order (V25 onward, written (𝒮C, ≺C) in V26/F6), named the universal cosmic extension TITOF := ℰC := (𝒮Ctot, ≺C) in V36/F16, and defined word by word in V39/F19 as the invariant universal succession of the common stages of change.
  2. Non-Transfer: success of a measurement, model or formalism does not identify its output with time (V18–V20, formalized as a Principle in V31/F11).
  3. Change and stages: from reassignment of time-attributed phenomena (V21/F1) to bearer-specific change at every common stage (V25/F5 onward), stated as CMA and UCC, and in V39/F19 to the theorem that every stage is a stage of change of all its systems.
  4. Identity and history: identity-bounded histories, formation, ending and successors (V26/F6 onward).
  5. Beginning and end: a unique first stage (V28/F8), optional from V35/F15, and adopted in V39/F19 through the Ordinal Succession postulate and the Cosmic Origin postulate; non-termination open in V28/F8, derived in V33/F13 and V34/F14, direct in V35/F15–V37/F17, optional in V38/F18, and a revisable hypothesis with a stated evidential ground in V39/F19.
  6. Accountability: from residual comparison (V16) to the clock-record bridge (V32/F12), predeclared foundation-to-observable prediction discipline (V38/F18), and the relativistic phenomenon bridge (V39/F19).

Invariant Temporal Ordering Framework V39/F19: Time as the Invariant Universal Succession of Common Stages of Change, Not Relativistic Geometry
ITOF Foundation Series XIX (F19) · Foundational Preprint

  • Time defined word by word: TITOF := ℰC := (𝒮Ctot, ≺C), the invariant universal cosmic extension. The extension is a non-metric succession; invariance means that it is non-reversed, with no stage empty of change or static.
  • The Ordinal Succession postulate: 0 ≺C 1 ≺C 2 ≺C 3 ≺C 4 ≺C … ∞ (conditional). Stage 0 is the first stage of change, with the genesis of the universe; the numerals express only the fixed succession of the stages and are not added; ∞ is not a stage and is conditional. The Cosmic Origin postulate, optional since V35/F15, states its first-stage clause formally.
  • Common-stage admission: every stage is a common stage of the physical systems of the universe and, under the postulate of change (UCC), a stage of change of all its systems. Empty, static and private stages are excluded.
  • CMA stated as the unity of the stages of change: each system’s realization succession is a segment of the one common succession, with a direct contrary, a private stage or private ordering.
  • Mutual independence of CMA and UCC proved by countermodels in both directions; V38/F18 had proved one direction.
  • Uninterrupted change secured by UCC together with Identity-Realization Convexity.
  • Causes of change detailed through pathways, influence profiles, responsiveness and response classes; influences combine, and the realized change is not in general the sum of single-influence changes.
  • Special and general relativity read phenomenon by phenomenon through a relativistic phenomenon bridge. Every quantitative result is retained; only the identification of relativistic quantities with time is refused. The Lorentz transformations are derived from rods and clocks with no temporal premise.
  • No physical system returns to an earlier stage, along a closed timelike curve or otherwise; temporal geometry is not admitted; deformation predicates are reassigned to their physical bearers; spacetime is read as a representation of the gravitational relation; the Rietdijk–Putnam argument is answered.
  • A dimension-admission criterion, a currently-complete physical isolation criterion for testing UCC, a clock vibration-condition protocol, and the evidential ground of conditional non-termination.

V15 — May 18, 2026

Physical Realization and Residual Reassignment under Invariant Ordered Succession

  • Time defined as invariant ordered succession, TITOF = (S, ≺), kept separate from measurable physical difference.
  • Influence-character exclusion: physical influences act through properties; time has ordering structure and no influence-character.
  • Measurable residuals assigned to physical realization, not to deformation of time.

V16 — May 23, 2026

Predictive Physical-Realization Closure under Invariant Ordered Succession

  • Preserves the V15 ontology unchanged and makes residuals predictively constrained.
  • Calculated–observed residual comparison within experimental uncertainty; predictive success supports a constrained physical-realization model.

V18 — June 1, 2026

Outcome Assignment and Non-Transfer to Time under Implementation-Conditioned Physical Realization

  • An outcome-assignment layer: the outcome of a system in a domain is assigned to the combined relation among system structure, realized influence profile and environment, not to any one alone.
  • First explicit statement of non-transfer to time.

V19 — June 3, 2026

Relativistic Interpretation Reassignment under Invariant Ordered Succession

  • Accepts measured clock asymmetries and operational success; places the disagreement in ontological transfer, not in whether relativistic models work.

V20 — June 8, 2026

Ontological Assignment Closure under Invariant Ordered Succession

  • The non-transfer principle for measurement, clocks and operational success: no measured output is transferable to the ontology of time unless time is first shown to have physical influence-character.
  • Clocks as symbolic physical systems converting regular processes into numerical ordering references; clock drift and failure belong to the clock system.

  • NoInterruption and NoTerminalStage kept as separate succession commitments outside the minimal definition of time.
  • Complete realization profiles, typed bridges, explicit countermodels, and a dedicated quantitative bridge architecture.

V38/F18 — September 19, 2026

Invariant Cosmic Extension, Objective Common-Stage Co-Presence, and Universal Change Continuity · Series XVIII (F18)

  • Explicit separation of CMA (objective common-stage co-presence, taken as primitive and meaning-fixed) from UCC (system-specific change through each identity range), joined by the defined conjunction StageChangeBridge, with a countermodel showing that UCC does not entail CMA.
  • Stage-relative physical totality typed into qualified systems and non-system physical factors.
  • Consolidated causal architecture (CRP): internal contributors, influencing systems, influencing factors.
  • Quantum stationary-state counterconditions preventing global phase or non-detection from being treated as automatic physical change.
  • Optional non-termination, proof that ontological difference alone produces no prediction separation, and stricter discipline for foundation-to-observable prediction.

Positions Revised Across the Versions

The following positions changed, and are recorded so that no earlier formulation is mistaken for the current one.

  • Stages and change: V23/F3 derived stages only after change was established; V24/F4 began from stages of a declared bearer; V38/F18 admitted a stage by realized change in at least one qualified system; V39/F19 admits every stage as a common stage of the physical systems of the universe and derives from UCC that it is a stage of change of all its systems.
  • CMA: V25/F5 stated it with change realized in every qualified system; V36/F16 made it a meaning-fixing axiom of one-common-stage realization; V38/F18 took co-presence as primitive; V39/F19 states it as the unity of the stages of change through realization successions, with a direct contrary.
  • Successor closure: V28/F8 and V29/F9 restricted successor production to identity-producing endings; Necessary Successor Closure was stated in V30/F10–V34/F14; V35/F15 removed it, and V39/F19 keeps successor attribution conditional, admitting absorption without a new successor identity.
  • Stage population: a population condition first appears in V26/F6, is restated separately in V27/F7, is named CSPP as an independent postulate in V34/F14–V37/F17, and is a derived consequence of stage admission from V38/F18; in V39/F19 it follows directly from common-stage admission.
  • First stage: V28/F8 stated a unique actual first stage; V30/F10 stated Cosmic Origin as a separate commitment; V35/F15 made it optional; V39/F19 adopts it through the Ordinal Succession postulate, with the Cosmic Origin postulate as its formal first-stage clause.
  • Non-termination: V28/F8 postulated no greatest stage without asserting termination as inevitable; V33/F13 first derived the absence of a greatest stage, and V34/F14 derived it again from a different premise set; V35/F15–V37/F17 stated it directly; V38/F18 made it optional; V39/F19 keeps it a revisable hypothesis with a stated evidential ground, so that ∞ remains conditional.
